Amazing Yarn Eye Candy from My Stash for Your Enjoyment
74I am a crocheter. And that means I use yarn. And I guess if I’m going to be honest I’m a little bit of a yarn addict, a little bit of a yarn hoarder. But I know I’m not the only one. In fact, I bet there are a lot of other yarn lovers out there who, like me, love looking at beautiful yarn. It’s not quite the same if you can’t touch it but nevertheless I thought I’d share some eye candy photos of my yarn stash for the other yarn lovers out there. Enjoy!
TENACIOUS
About Tenacious
Tenacious is one of the newest yarns that I have added to my yarn stash. I purchased it from the Sincere Sheep booth at Bizarre Bazaar which is a great indie craft fair here. I haven't used it yet but I love adoring it from not-too-afar. This is four ounces of yarn which comes out to more than four hundred yards of a two-ply sock weight yarn. It's 100% superwash merino which means it's a great soft workable yarn.
AURORA MELANGE
About Aurora Melange
I have two different colors of this Aurora Melange yarn but I think this one is my favorite so that's why I decided to show it off here. This is a really soft yarn with great color definition. It is 100% extrafine merino wool. Can you tell that I like the merinos? This one is a worsted weight yarn and there is about one hundred yards in the ball.
JITTERBUG
About Jitterbug
This lovely yarn is one that I chose primarily for its great color. You may begin to notice a pattern of blue yarns here. I love anything in the blue and grey families although my very favorite color combination is teal with a dark grey. This colorway is actually called Salty Dog. Yarns have such funny names. It's Jitterbug yarn by Colinette. It's a four ply fingering weight yarn that is (not surprisingly here) a 100% merino yarn. It's a little over 300 yards.
LORNA'S LACES
About Lorna's Laces
Lorna's Laces is a lovely brand of yarn. This particular pair is Shepherd Sport Multi yarn from Lorna's Laces. It's soft and lovely and I adore the purple/ grey color combination that is worked together here. This is a 100% wool yarn that comes with about 200 yards to a skein. I purchased this one from a lovely store in Monterrey, California, called The Twisted Stitch when I visited there last spring for my birthday.
LOOP-D-LOOP
About Loop-d-Loop
Loop-d-loop by Teva Durham is a really unique type of yarn. It's almost like a lace ribbon. It's not as easy to work with as a simpler type of yarn, like a merino wool yarn, but that's what makes it fun. It's textured and unique and I typically work it with a Lover's Knot crochet stitch to take advantage of the full texture and showcase the yarn. It's a super bulky weight yarn that is 70% wool and 30% nylon and comes with about 80 yards to a ball. If you're interested then you can see my full yarn review here.
SURI RIBBON
About Alpaca Suri Ribbon
I purchased this one at Elmwood Yarn Shop in Buffalo, New York when they were having a lovely sale on it. It is a bulky weight yarn that only comes about 27 yards to a skein. It is 100% alpaca. It's a different type of yarn to work with but it's a lot of fun and I love that color!

Gorgeous! I adore all the colors and textures.
I'm so jealous!! lol
Definitely interesting and eye-catching...like looking at cinnamon chocolate or peppery chocolate or a big fat bowl of chocolate ganache! Really yummy colors. Make us all a scarf!
Better keep my mom away from this one, Kathryn! She would also love these, especially the Alpaca Suri Ribbon. The most wonderful colors. Can't wait to see the creations you dream up with all these yummy yarns...
I need a bib after looking at these. I, too, am a yarn addict and drool when looking at yarns as lovely as these. Have fun working with these beauties.
Seems there are a few of us...lovely peek at your fav yarns, show us more!
Jitterbug is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Very pretty. I don't have a yarn stash but I do have a fabric stash so I can totally appreciate how addictive collecting yarn can be!
We have a couple of very popular yarn shops here in town and several local artisans that spin their own - very cool!
I enjoyed your hub:)
I'm not a big fan of crocheting probably because i don't have the fine motor skills. LOL. I love your loop d loop picture though. Great shot!
Nice :)
Love crocheting but I don't have the time to do it as often as I'd like.
